I have a question for you and I need your expertise. I have a Male GB that lost his mate a while ago. Today I got a pair of GB. What are your opinions about putting them all together. I do not want a fight going on. Also I have a fantastic cage I was thinking of using however I keep reading here about how the GB eat off the floor. ( My male does not) The cage is an Egyptian type. It is 16w x 13L x38 high. I was thinking of putting a fairly long branch with lots of greenery in it. What are your thoughts.

I have 3...but it is 2 female 1 male. I originally had 4 but one male died. At first the little widow female was shunned and slowly accepted and now the 3 are in a love, they are very bonded, eating and sleeping together. The original pair keeps the little widow female in the middle and they preen her.
As far as 2 males and a female, I am not sure I would chance that they may fight over her if trying to mate. It could stress the female out. I would get another female for your male and introduce them to the cage but hang about 4 nest basket 2 on each side of the cage at the same level, put some nesting material in each and them put some in a few spots for them to choose from. All 4 of mine got along great.

Thanks for the replies. I may have to think this cage over again as I have another one that might be better for them. I am worried about the 2 males to 1 female ratio. GB Waxbills are NOT easy to get around here. I would love another female. Thanks again
