I went to Melbourne today to see our bird friend and I asked him what hexes were as nobody here new and he told me that they were the shaft-tails(which I dont think he knew they were called that) but he said they were a native to Australia(Queensland I think) and that they would breed with the zebras!!! I'll try and see if I can find more information on this. Well thanks for listening, Susie.

Tammie B, you were right, the spelling is hecks and they are the shafttail. Are they native to Australia?

Yes, they are native to AU. I hadn't heard they would breed with Zebras though.

the can hybridize with a zebra only if its the last bird it will mate with because the birds testosterone rises.
