I have been told a few different things about my finch. It was a male, then a female, then some sort of mutation....
Can anyone tell me what to call it, Jack or Jill and is it a mutation?
I hope I posted this picture correctly, if not it is under Adult Finches, Jack or Jill.

You have a male Chestnut Flanked White Zebra finch (CFW). I had one once,

Why no black marking below the eyes?

it has no black because the CFW mutation is a diluted bird most of the blacks ar diluted if it is the regular type unlike the continental type the birds black markings remain black!
