Bonded pairs?

Hello, fellow finch lovers!
I currently have two red-throated parrotfinches, and I'm trying to decide on another pair to add to their enclosure. I really want a pair of gouldians, but I've been told they could cross-breed with parrotfinches. I've had my red-throats by themselves for just about one year now. They sleep side-by-side (cutest thing ever!), and seem to get along well. They've also attempted nesting several times (no luck yet). So, I think they are pretty well-bonded.
My question is...if I add a pair of gouldians to their enclosure could the gouldians "break them up" and try to form a new pair with one of my red-throats? Or will the red-throats stay bonded? I don't know how strong finch bonds are or how permanent. I would hate to destroy my finches love life!
