I purchased a BHWB male juvenile who is suppose to be 6 months old.
Do juveniles get stuck in molt, as I don't see any black head coloring yet.
His belly is yellow and his white breast is almost colored out and a few blue around his neck. His beak is still dark though, at what age do the males beak lighten :?: Could he be younger then 6 months :?: He does sing.

I had one hen that took almost a year and a half to finish - she was all done except for her head. I could swear her beak looked like an adult, though. I have also had chicks take up to 6 months to finish, and the head is always the last. I wonder about that beak, though.....

Some goulds do take FOREVER to get their adult colors. Some don't completely color up until their 2nd year. I wouldn't use a late-color-upper for breeding--it already takes long enough for those little buggers to get their adult colors.
