Hi, I have had two saffron finches for over a year. They live outdoors in a huge cage. They were sold to me as a pair and chosen form a large group in a cage but look very similar, almost identical. Over the last year they have certainly grown up and look way better but I cannot sex them at all and assumed they were both hens. Today one was making more noise than the other but I wouldn't call it singing unless they are really bad at it. Any thoughts on how to sex them? Both have a tiny amount of light orange on their heads and the bodies are yellowish and mostly sparrow-like. Anyone have experience with them?
Thanks, Charlie

Re: saffron finches
Just from looking at pictures online, I'd say that they are probably female. Doesn't appear to be any darker orange tint to the forehead, which would indicate a male.
