I am trying to figure out how to tell if a little society is crested or not

I have no idea at what point we can tell, so I am going to post a pic of Tiny Tim for your ideas and opinions.

I'm going to say no at this point although the feathers that would be facing front have not grown in yet. I can usually see the circle of feathers long before they fledge. Is he a pure white? wow
