I wanted to give you guys an update. We went to the show today and came home with 2 female canaries and a m/f pair of English budgies. We got both from breeders. One breeder sold us a small cage (like the ones you pictured) and the other put them in a cardboard box. We did use the shopping bag to put the cage in and it worked great.

The show didn't have as many small bird supplies as I had hoped. We did pick up 3 perches, a swing, some toys, a bag of parakeet seed (from the budgie breeder) and that was about it.

I will attach a pic of the budgies here and you can find pics of the canaries in my other thread in the canary forum here. My two new canaries

Tish- Thank you! I'm hoping they go through quarantine well also. They seem to be eating, drinking, and moving about so that is a good sign. :)

Thanks guys! So far the canaries are winning for most entertaining.. They have been SO active flying, chirping, eating off the ground...bathing in their water dish (right after I clean it lol), etc. The budgies are beautiful, but not as active by far. I am hoping they will move around more once they settle in. They were housed in an outdoor aviary before, so I'm sure living in a cage is a little shocking to them.

I am already thinking about the next show in November. I'd love to get a couple more female canaries to go with these two and also a male in a separate cage... I think the bird bug has officially bitten me lol.
