I will probably not end up with hybrids, as i will be getting teh correct male/femlae for those i have now.

The breeder i got the redhead from, has just been informed from a Holland breeder that a female can not be split lutino, only the males are. So the female should be a normal redheaded, i hope some one can confirm if it is a fact or not.

So he offered me a male lutino split at reduced price, instead of the high price they normally have when theres lutino in them.

But besides that, they are actually getting along fine, i really enjoy how calm birds they are.

Welcome....im a newbie too..your birds are beautiful.. was thinking about getting pair parrot finches..are they aggressive bird with other wee finches are would they be ok house with them

In this thread the green and red parrot finch has been called at least three different common names. No wonder people don't know what they have...lol

I believe the correct term for the bird pictured is the Red-throated Parrot Finch (Erythrura psittacea).

There is a Red-headed Parrot that is much, much harder to come by. From what I can gather is is also called the Peale's and Fiji Parrot finch. I do not believe there is a species with the common name of Red-faced...
