I call it cooking. It's the mash. I used to make it for my budgie although I toss some fruit in for these guys (a small amount.) my budgie liked it more simple with greens, something orange, and sprouted grains.

Sometimes I made him birdie bread. I will have to try it for the societies.

I need to post pics. He just looks little compared to them to me. It isn't like a cockatiel to a budgie. But he is definitely smaller.

I did have this photo of the girls that my friend shared with me. Pretty, I think. The lighter one is the one that is more friendly.

Someone asked about the size difference. It was hard to catch two sitting together for long (except at night, and then it's too dark and I don't want to startle with a flash.)

Makufye

You're right, he is a wee little fella.

Cute kids, thanks for sharing.

In regards to the birdie mush, what ingredients go in to it?

There are several members that make bird bread for their birds, and it seems to be fairly popular. Do you make your own egg food as well?

I put in greens (kale and chopped parsley last time), a blue berry, an orange slice, some orange bell pepper and everything was chopped finely. My budgie loved this stuff, but for him, I stuck to veggies, no fruit. The zebras never liked it, but the societies checked it out.

Whoops, I didn't answer your question. I use a commercial egg food but I would be interested in trying to do it myself. What's the best way to get started?

Makufye

I am a firm believer in offering the kids fresh foods whenever possible.

I have been known to throw together some interesting salads for the little guys, which they love.
Re. the home made egg food, here's a link where I explained it.
Also posting a picture or two of my salads.

My mash looks like your salad with the bananas and the oranges. My zebra boy was never interested until he saw the girls interested. So I am hopeful. My budgie loved it when he was alive so I am going to keep at it.

Thanks for the egg food link. I will work on it!
