Chance at getting Gouldians.

Post by Twinmom0804 » Sun Aug 17, 2014 9:05 pm

I local shop here has Gouldians for sale for $100 each. It is a small family owned shop where all their birds are family raised. I am sooooooooooo tempted!!! Cannot remember if they are both male or a male/female pair. I am not interested in breeding right now.

Surely you are not putting them in the same cage as your four I hope.

No. Actually, I was able to return the zebra finches today to where I got them. So all I have left is the two Societies. I have a bigger cage on order too. So will be set for a couple more. :-)

How big is your cage? That is something to consider carefully before getting more birds. Most of these guys need some flying room to be happy and healthy. In this case bigger is better, and wider is better than taller. Thirty inches wide ( or more) is usually considered adequate. Overcrowding and insufficient space will cause squabbles and injuries , along with health issues.
