1st off Hi everyone I'm new here and to having finch ,

My question is I've had zebra finch around 3-4 weeks now and I put a bath that clips onto the opening of the cage about every 3 days my male zebra goes straight in ,

However my female hasn't been in once yet why is this ?

Maybe she doesn't feel comfortable in it. Try a shallow dish on the floor of the cage. She might feel more secure in something more stable.

It could also be a cultural thing.

Birds have cultures, just like humans.
In some cultures, the birds bathe frequently and young birds or new birds in the flock will start to do the same.

In other cultures, they're not big on bathing so young/new birds never really get into the habit of bathing.

My zebra finches are a bunch of dirty birds. They almost never bathe. It's usually an occasional chest dunk and that's about it.

It may be the hang-on bath that is putting her off, so as lovezebs suggested, a small dish on the floor of the cage often will be more acceptable to the bird.

My guys, with the exception of the Budgies, all bath daily, the Socies and the Parrot Finches , several times a day. They can't wait for me to put their communal baths in so that they can dive in.
