Hello from Toronto

Post by Enzo » Wed Nov 25, 2015 3:00 pm

Hello all

I have found this very helpful forum, and I am happy to have been accepted.

Last week-end, as a gift to my kids, I bought 4 society finches, my son favorite birds, and I am back in the hobby! :)
It looks like I have 4 males....all singing (well, 1 sing a less elaborate song, maybe is a youngster) and in great health. They are so cute :)

In the past (several years ago) I kept budgies and zebra finches, and after this purchase I feel like my old "bird fever" is back.....my wife is already checking how much I am spending on them...she know me....:)

Hello from a cold Toronto

Cheers
Enzo

Welcome to the forum! SOCIETIES!!! My favorite!! :YMHUG: I have an all-boys cage as well. 6 of those fellas just getting in each others faces and showing off their songs.

Get little wooden/woven (sometimes they dont like this with lots of colors) cubbies and tunnels to hang on the cage walls and throw a big ole pile of tommy hay on the cage floor and watch the fun begin.....building, exploring, hanging upside down, tug-of-war over the hay! Lots of fun those males :)

Welcome to the forum! There's lots of good reading at www.finchinfo.com, where you will find many articles on finch care. If you put your general location in your profile, it will help later on to answer questions specific to your area. And yes, we do love pictures!

Hi Enzo, and a warm welcome from a cold Calgary Alberta :-D.

Would love to see some pictures of your Socies, and all the other birds which will follow them  lol. Tell your wife, that she is fighting a losing battle.

Enjoy the Forum :-).

I'm three hours from Toronto and it's cold here too. You're lucky you have good big city selection. I have to drive 2 hours away to get to a reliable breeder. Our birds are our family hobby, too. Have fun with your boy and your birds. I wish I had some societies but I'm out of room!

Ditto all! We may be newbies or coming back to an old "hobby" but like my husband says he has said no to every critter we have ever had and I just keep bringing them home! So he doesn't even fight me anymore he just loves them all too. Your wife will be won over by the birds in no time!

Welcome to the forum. If I lived near Elana there would be no way I would not be banging on her door to get some babies!!!! your in deep trouble you know that right? She is a good bird mama.
