Bird Sand Paper

Hello,
We are looking for bird sand paper which is the right size for the Mara cage we have (perhaps someone else has this cage?). The size required is close to 39 cm x 74 cm. Of course we can use newspaper but aesthetically it would look nicer with the bird sand paper. Using real sand would make far too much mess.
Has to be changed every 2-3 days depending on how much mess they make!
Thanks,
Rachel and Jeff (UK)

I have large flights, so lining them with cage liners, would not be economical for me. I use newspaper, and if I feel fancy and want things to look more esthetically pleasing, I place a layer of paper towel over the newspapers.

Have you checked in your local Pet Shops?

Sand paper as a cage floor covering is fairly outdated. It is hard on bird feet and expensive.

Easibed, Chipsi XL, and easichick all seem to be very popular bedding materials in the UK. Have you tried those?

For regular sand, you don't have to replace it each time. You can use a reptile sand sifter (looks like a hand shovel made with metal mesh) to sift out the waste.

You can also get rolls of craft paper with a paper cutter in an appropriate width and use that. An example:
