We haven't named them yet. I think we have been pre-occupied with our mating Gouldians.

Re: New Red-faced Star Finches
Congrats, I love Star finches. They are not only beautiful, but they also are one of the most inquisitive of finches, almost always first to check out anything new.

Re: New Red-faced Star Finches
Beautiful photos! I LOVE this species....I have two males but haven't been lucky enough of finding mates for them. My two males build nest and even fostered Gouldian finches successfully. Love my guys and hope to find mates for them. Best of luck with your beauties!

Re: New Red-faced Star Finches
The males have more red extending past their eyes on the head. You can see it in the pics I posted with the two of them in the pic.Barbara wrote: Very nice pictures are male and females different in any way ?
Our male also has more olive color on it's backside, and the female is a little more light brown. Not sure if this is typical. These are our first Red-faced Star Finches.

They look amazing! I use to have red faced and yellow faced stars. Haven't seen them anywhere in a while. Hoping to come across a pair at the next bird mart.
