Newbie here, I have an outdoor aviary, the temperature drop yesterday and one of my lady gouldian got sick. He's not doing well. His feathers are puff up and he's sleepy most of the time. He still eats and drink but look sick. I put on a heat lamp, amox in his water and separate from the rest. Anything else i should do??

This is a new bird, right? He may not have been acclimated to outdoor temperatures and so be a little more susceptible to big changes. You've already separated him and given heat, which is what I would have done. I don't automatically give medications, because unless you know just what you are treating, you can do more harm than good. There are some products that are good for stress--Dr. Marshall's NV powder or Morning Bird's Vitalize or Thrive, which help with electrolyes. Do you know if your new birds were in outdoor aviaries?

Oops, just read your other post and realized that you got these new birds last month. Still, if they have been inside, the drop in temps can be stressful. Same advice applies.

Thank you and yes the bird are from an indoor aviary. I'll stop with meds and continue with the heat lamp.

Gouldians, can be sensitive to fluctuations in temperature.
Where are you situated?
What sort of temperatures do you have?
