is this normal ?

Post by Kalahariuk » Tue Apr 05, 2016 12:05 pm

1st up, our little family of 8 tend only to use the cage to eat, sleep & poo, the rest of the time they have full use of the bedroom, but their favourite place is a perch right up near the ceiling far from the cage ... They fly home to the cage at dusk:

I don't know who bred the exhibition finch hen that we got from the pet shop, but she won't fly across the room without brushing past my head. And if I am standing by the cage she will always stand 2 inches from my face.

And today, she finally decided to try a new perch !!!!!
It was AMAZING !

We got her from a shop ! Fully grown !
She is a real people person !

That is amazing! Someone must have spent some time with her for her to be so trusting. She is lovely, too.

Lovely little family.

Your pretty girl, may have been hand raised as a chick, to feel so comfortable around humans. Try holding some spray millet in the palm of your hand, while sitting very quietly, and see if she'll come over for a snack.

Love the pictures.
