Gouldian Pair and cordon Bleu Pair Sharing Egg Duty?
I am new to Gouldians and Red cheek cordon bleus and I probably should have divided my flight cage before this happened, but I'm a newbie and wasn't expecting this.. the gouldians have been laying eggs and are in and out of the nest all the time, but I catch male and female RCCBs sitting on them just as much. The gouldians don't seem to mind. The nest is a type that I can't really see inside of too good so I don't know if these are fertile or not.. I'm thinking I will wait awhile and see what happens and if these are no good I will divide the pairs and let them get on with it by themselves haha. Has anyone ever had success with a situation such as this? Thanks for listening:)

I haven't kept these two species together, but it will be interesting to see what happens if the eggs are fertile! Please keep us posted on developments. BTW, I don't think anyone would have expected these two species to be sharing a nest, so I don't consider that a newbie mistake at all!

It's actually hard to breed cordon bleu's just go with it. Give them plenty of egg food and the CB's needs insects. Just see what babies you get!!! Very exciting surprise either way.

I have a Shafttail that's helping a pair of Silver Bills sit on their eggs. Who knows what birds will do when put together and comfortable with each other?
