I have 2 society finches and one sounds like a bird the other sounds like a cricket. Does that mean one is a male and one is a female? Or is it because one is around 3 months old?

Many say that their hens sound like a cricket chirp, so maybe the one is a hen. Males are the only ones that sing, and it is unmistakable--they stand up tall, puff out their little chests, and sing while moving their beaks open and closed, much more prominently than many other species.

I think Scotland is a male, because he sings like the male finch I seen on youtube. And I have a feeling that Ireland is a girl because she chirps like a cricket very soft sounding.
