Finch noise comparison

Post by Angiern » Thu Jul 21, 2016 12:49 pm

When I bought my pair of shaft tail finches I was debating between getting them or a pair of Gouldians. I've had my shaft tails for two weeks and they are awesome but noisier than I expected. The store allows trades. Are Gouldians quieter? I know all birds make noise and that's ok (I have a conure) but I was wanting a comparison. I was thinking about getting two males as I don't want to breed. Are males peaceful?

I have 2 Gouldian Males. They have periods during the day when they "Chatter" for awhile, and periods when they are completely silent. I had a Nanday Conure, so to me, my Gouldians are an absolute Delight compared to that screeching, screaming Conure.
Plus, my Gouldians are absolutely Gorgeous to look at ! :D

Gouldians are about as quiet as birds can be. They do make some quiet chatter but it is never at a level that can be considered obtrusive.

Gouldians are also very mild mannered and get along very well with other peaceful birds.
