I switched from a regular food dish to a seed hopped about 5-6 weeks ago. My gouldians finally took to it after about a week and a half, and they've been eating out of it no problem.
However now I've noticed that they seem to be "enjoying" it a little too much--when I come home from work, one of them will be sitting in the tray and the other will be right beneath, hanging out on the cage floor. Many mornings that I wake up, I find the two of them in this position as well.
When I turn the lights down for the night, they do act normal and go roost on a favorite branch or swing--I'm just concerned about the food dish hovering, as I had read that it can sometimes mean health issues (i.e. the bird is starving/feels continuously hungry).
Any advice is appreciated!

The one in the tray, may be hogging it, and keeping the other one away from the food.
With two birds, I would have two feeding stations.
