First Mate
My two zebras have had their first clutch, only one chick, but he/she is about 2-3 weeks. He is out of the nest and still being weaned, however mama finch is already laying new eggs. Should I be concerned they will abandon they new fledgling to raise a new clutch?

Dad will continue feeding baby to weaning, and all should be well.
By the way welcome to the Forum.

Re: First Mate
that's a relief. I'm new to finch keeping as well as this forum, I'd hate to see anything bad happen to my first little guy. thanks for the help

Re: First Mate
maximuswell It is not unusual for Zebras to start the next clutch before they have weaned the first. Congrats on that first baby!
