Congratulations on the beautiful new kids.

I think you will really enjoy them.

I have found Gouldians, to be extremely sweet birds, and I really enjoy having them around. Gentle, sweet natured, curious, and of course lovely to look at :D .

Madcat

HOLY CROW!!!
That's a whole lot of Juvies.

You're lucky you're far away from me, or I'd be beating your door down and heading for the bird room, drooling all over your floor, going.... "I want that one, and that one, and this one.... and ooohhh look at that one....yes want him too....." =))

I love baby Gouldians, but then I love all babies, lol.

Are you planing on breeding these two pretties in the future?

I know exactly what you mean about babies !! :D I do not have a very big bird room. My two gouldians are in a 63" flight cage on one side of the room and then two canaries in another 63" flight cage on the other side of the room and a 32" flight cage next to that one with a single canary . There are not many Gouldians for Sale in my area, so if I decide to breed later I am sure I could find them good homes.....but would I want to part with them :-? I don't think so !!! I have seen pictures of your beautiful Gouldians. :D Did you breed at one time ?

Yes, I used to breed; Zebras, Socies, Gouldians, Canaries, Strawberries, and Owls, but sort of got away from it, when life got in the way.

I may still get back into it at some point in the future, seeing as I do enjoy and miss the babies.

Parting with them is difficult, always worrying whether they would end up in good homes (I felt like I was betraying them when I took them to them to the Pet Shop) , but you can't think that way. I had to convince myself, that I was offering other people the opportunity to enjoy birds as much as I did, and let them go.

I certainly understand how life can get in the way of some of our passions.

I have seen many posts of your pets and they are all beautiful and well cared for . :D

Thank you so much for the encouraging words if I do decide to breed :D

I agree with Madcat although actually normals are my faves. They are all pretty though and so quiet and sweet, love their song. They are definitely addictive!

If you want another fun finch, shafttails are hilarious in their mannerisms but can be a little pushy when breeding.
