Boiled egg and millet sprigs right away! They will go through lots of it when feeding the chicks. Congratulations!

Some minced swiss chard or kale is usually accepted as well.

I feed my finches soak seed and Egg food mixed with Perle Morbide. They love it! I do feed small amounts of the egg food and Perle Morbide a couple of times a week leading up to egg laying

Congratulation.

As Babs already mentioned, eggs and spray millet for feeding parents.

Another question please should i mash the egg shell in with the boiled egg? i read the other day the egg shell can puncture the chicks crop? is it safe?

I shave cuttle bone powder on top of the boiled egg. Many feed the eggshells with the boiled egg with no problems at all. Either way should be just fine.

The parents know what not to feed to the kids.

I peel my eggs (save the shells), grate them, or put them through my brand new potato ricer (love it).

I dry the shells and crush them small, adding them to my bird grit. My recipe for my egg food below....

Lately I've also been adding a few drops of ECOTRITION Skin & Plumage, along with SUNBURST Leafy Greens & Herbs to the mixture.
Everyone loves it, from biggest to smallest.

I peel the egg shell and put it into the microwave so it gets really dry and then grind it into a really fine powder in my magic bullet machine. It works really well to get the shells very fine and then I mix that in with the boiled egg and add some millet.
I didnt think about pulverized mealworms but I bet they would like that
