If it isnt a zeeb, you tell by song. One will sing, and the other will not. The male sings.

An Australian shepherd
Many chickens
4 goats
A cat
And a bunny

With owlfinches, you have to develop a feel for it. There are 3 to 4 differences that you can look for, but sometimes they would look exactly the same in face and breast colour. You can also sex them on posture and behaviour.

lovezebs It is easy to sex your bechino's from the last 2 photos, because they are sharp and clear. You can see clearly that the cock's face and chest are whiter.
