Oh thanks, but I don't really know that much but I have done heaps of research and I'm learning through all the mistakes I make. My first birds were two budgies and I had them for about 6 months before I got any other birds. I have 5 budgies now as I got some more budgies yesterday from a lovely breeder.

Budgies are awesome wee birds. I love the racket they make and watching all their antics- for instance one of my budgies loves swinging upside down.

Oh okay yeah, I'm going to attempt breeding mine next season. Good luck with getting some nice budgies then and one thing to watch out for with budgies is whether or not they can fly. Budgies that can't fly usually get sick most of the time because of lack of exercise. I know this because a year and a half ago I purchased a budgie from a pet store and turns out it couldn't fly and still can't to this today. They are also generally grumpy when they can't fly.

Well I think it's when they clip their wings as babies. And ten thy never learn and by that time their wing muscles are not strong enough. It's called muscle astrophey I think.

Flight Feathers

Just make sure you know what you'll do with the babies. I don't know about the situation in your area, but hardly anyone wants budgies where I am. It took a couple of weeks before anyone would take two budgies, a cage, and their toys; everything was free, but there was still little interest.

Where I live, pretty much all birds are in high demand. Zebra finches and budgies sell out here very quickly.

When I took my zebras to the pet shop they had sold out and they said they need more zebs because they are in extremely high demand and there just isn't enough. I think budgies may be in even higher demand than this.

Flight Feathers and Fraza

Lucky! None of the pet shops around me will buy birds from private breeders, and not many people online want birds, either. One of the pet shops I frequent has had many of the same birds for over a year, so people must not want them.
