Yes, she does! Thank you all for the colour ID help :)

I've picked up an extra cage for the male I'm picking up tomorrow and am all set! I don't anticipate letting them breed, but if I choose to in the future, are there any colours that go well with fawns (i.e produce colour mutations) or does it really matter? I'm not looking to get technical with this, and colour doesn't particularly matter anyway, but :)

Ahahaha we'll have to see ;) I'm aware they that they just breed like bunnies, and I have a feeling they'd be difficult to rehome, if it came to that, as they're so common around here! There are also so many other birds I want, like another canary and a pair of Java sparrows xx If anyone is able to give me any insight as to colours to pair with her, though, I'd appreciate it- even if I don't end up breeding, it's still good to know!

Javas are definitely first on my list! There are a few local breeders in the area who have various colours, and I’d love to get set up with an opal/silver pair. I only have two birds right now but I’m already addicted.

Off to pick up a male today, hoping to get a black cheek :) will post updates a bit later on!

So gorgeous. I’m not sure if I’d like to breed the smaller finches, but I think I would like to breed the javas. They’ve always been some of my favourite birds.

Well, the breeder had too many gorgeous finches. I couldn’t choose just one.

The black cheek was already paired with the white hen. I got the silver guy to be Cora’s buddy. The males have bickered a bit but all in all everyone seems very happy :) not sure why the images are coming out blurry, but if you click they are nice and clear x also, I know I was originally advised to keep them apart for a week, but since i got an already existing pair, the breeder told me to just plop them in so they didn’t have time to stake out territory.

Ulysses ur very lucky you have yourself an OB their and that white is a split black cheek maybe full

And you shud seperate the existing pair from your girl and the remaining boy so they have time to put without the others there then allow them back in

I’m happy for you cos you have some really nice finches there if you breed I can’t wait to see the outcome

Thank you! The silver and Cora have paired already, it seems. I'm quite pleased. Truthfully, I would have originally gotten just the one, but I saw the black cheek and I had to have him, and of course his hen had to come with, because she's very pretty, too. He was too gorgeous not to pass up, haha. Also had penguin finches and scaly-breasted munias in various colours, but a bit too expensive for me right now. Maybe I'll upgrade in the future. haha

And OB? is that orange breasted? The new silver male, you mean? There are so many colour variations, it's hard to keep track!

Fawn is sexlinked so apparently you won’t get fawn babies unless male carries the gene ? It really depends what colors you after.

Thank you! Good to know about the fawn. I have a lot of reading to do if I do decide to breed.

I managed to get them to eat out of my hand today, which is impressive considering most of them have only been here a day. They are so sweet.
