what should I get?

My boyfriend is buying me a single flight cage for my birthday. I was thinking about getting lady gouldian or owl finches or java finches. However I have a few questions before I make up my mind. What species is easier? What species does well in only pairs? Which species is the more quite? I have societies and they are pretty simple to care for and pretty quite. I'd like my next birds to be simple as well, but more importantly not overly loud.

Javas are quiet birds, hardy, and they can be tamed. I recommend them!

I’ve never had owls or Javas, but I have a pair of gouldians. They are sweet and quiet and gorgeous. Some of my favorites.

Javas do best in a large flight area and raising chicks.

I've never had owl finches, but between gouldians and Javas, Javas are definitely my favorite. They have a melodic, liquidy song and seem more intelligent overall.
