Cleaning Used Nest

Hi all,

I might be over thinking this, but what's the best way to clean one of the little wicker style nests?

Will soaking it be sufficient? Or do I need to take to it with an old toothbrush?

Furthermore, how clean should a nest be when it's in use for a fair amount of time?

Thanks in advance!

You really can't clean them, they are a one-time item.

By first soaking them in soapy water for a while, you can brush them so they look clean. But pathogens could be lurking in the fibers. Even disinfectants aren't reliable for cleaning wood.

Brilliant! Thanks Dave. Might look into getting something more permanent.
