secon update today ... i just checked before its getting to dark .. well there's 4 babies in the nest !!!

the parents are not agressive towards the first young ones at all , they mostley just follow mom or dad to see /learn how to find food ... and this is sooooo nice to see , they are really clowns , hanging upside down on branches and running around the bamboo like little rockets hunting insects ... these birds are for sure my most favorite specie i ever had
sexing the young ones is possible someone wrote on the net , had to do with the beak color ... forgot what it was ... sorry !!

bad bad bad news .... i just found the female dead on the nest .... 2 outa 4 young ones are still alive , the male went to the nest one sec after i left ... he had some food in the beak ... hope he can do and handle it !!!

i think he is to much on the nest , he should spend more time on finding food for the babies .... he goes out for like 30 secs checking for insects and goes back in with only one or two little worms .. and thats not enough !!! we only can hope ....

the two young ones are still alive !!!! , i did band them yesterday and they hunry and healthy , guess pops doing its job !!!

so far so good , they getting little feathers already , pops is acting all crazy to get enough food for them , my wallet is empty from buying all those boxes with frozen mini worms ... but i don't care as long they gonna make it i am fine :-)

That is one big mouth on such a tiny chick...no wonder it takes so many mealies to fill him up :lol: I'm so thrilled to hear that Pops is taking such good care..... keep the progress/photos coming.
