Possible purchase...

Post by buteo4 » Sat Jan 29, 2011 10:07 pm

Going to look at these societies tomorrow! Can anyone tell me about the colors? I've never seen these colors before. Oh my partner in crime and I need to get working on another aviary/flight!! This lady also has beautiful canaries and apparently has Gouldians too (though none currently for sale, probably a good thing).
Thank!
Gina

Hi...the dark one looks like it might be a chocolate self and the light ones look like Cremino.

This site on efinch.com should help a little

http://www.efinch.com/species/society.htm

This is another great site

Well, they came home with me! I had a wonderful time talking to the breeder (canart lady) and her elderly mom (the finch lady). She had a gorgeous bird room filled with canaries of every color, societies, and best of all Gouldians! Most weren't for sale though because they are obviously attatched to all of them, but I have a feeling that due to health issues they will be downsizing soon and I made them promise to call me when they do.

I will post pictures of the new societies soon. I believe one is a chocolate self, and the others possibly fawn dilutes.
