I have 2 Diamond Doves that are on eggs. This little couple did not waste any time. Is there something special you would be feeding them during this period and after the eggs hatch? It has been harder to find info on the DD's.

They must have heard me. One just hatched. The Mom (Sadie- who my 6 year old named) just helped crack the egg open or something. I can see that one baby is moving around but she is keeping it pretty hidden.

You are in for a real treat--Diamond dove babies are adorable! Usually two eggs are laid, is that what yours did? When I had them, I fed them my basic finch mix, which didn't have any little colored bits. They ate that well. They will also eat eggfood just like our finches to feed to their babies. One difference, if you aren't aware of this already--doves don't hull their seed, they swallow it whole, and so they need grit or gravel so the seeds will get ground up in their crop. And mine used to love romaine lettuce.
Did they nest in an open basket? That's what they normally prefer, which is great for you, because once the parents start leaving the babies, you get to see those little ones up close. Congrats!

I used to just take a portion of a leaf and clip it with a clothespin to the bars at the end of a perch--they would nibble on it there. They also learned to eat other veggies such as broccoli, chopped up into little pieces.
It is hard to see those little ones at first, the parents sit tight and fluff out their feathers so babies are covered.
