Four weeks, typically. If they look, eat and act fine after that - you can put them with your other birds.

It's best in a separate room (and if you can - on a separate floor / level). In other words as far away from your current birds as possible.

Birds that come from the same breeder should go through quarantine together.
In fact, I don`t know about everyone else, but when I come home from a mart I quarantine all new birds together. The purpose in the end is to not infect your existing flock with anything that the new birds may be carrying.

I do the same thing when I bring birds back from the marts & shows.. for any new birds I quarantine about 4-6 weeks, two weeks of treatments & 2-4 weeks of watching them after that. I have been really lucky (knocking on wood as I type) that I have not brought anything in that got past this method..

This is what I do.. :D There are a lot of opinions on this forum and I respect everyones thoughts and will in no way be offended if someone differs on what they do specially on the antibiotics.. I have read a lot on both sides of this issue.. This has been my treatment for 8-10 years and it works for me :?:

Day 1: Worm away
Day 2 to 6: Amoxitex
Day 7 to 13: Ronex
Day 14 to 16 Probotics

I keep my quarantine a little simpler -

Day 1 - Scatt and dewormer
Day 2 - dewormer
Day 21 - Scatt

Been doing this for 7 years

Oops  I forgot.. Yep every one gets a drop of Scatt first thing after clipping toe nails as needed.. =D>
As for where to get these supplies, I would look for a Morning Bird Supplier up your way for all but the Scatt (Vetafarm)
