well this happened so fast! The breeder told me to come by today and exchange the birds.
It was hard to see them go and into her hands. I must say I had tears in my eyes, especially for my little yellow napoleon weaver. :(

She told me I could pick any pair of Gouldians I wanted.( well except for the blues they were too much money lol)

So I got a very pretty pair yellow male and green female. Sorry not familiar with the terms yet. (im sure you all can help with that) I will post pictures soon!

I know what you mean about giving up one of your birds.
I have trouble doing that when I had to take zebras to the local bird shop. Even selling them is hard for me. I have some gouldians that I will in all likelyhood never breed, as they do not fit into my breeding plan, yet I just can't make the decision to sell them.

Basically ouldians come in head color, back color, and breast color.
Head color: red, black and yellow (aka orange)
Back color: green, yellow, blue and silver
Breast color: purple, lilac and white

It gets more complicated with the head color depending on the back color. For instance a yellow or silver back, black head looses the true black and it looks light grey/dirty white. Also a blue or silver back, red or yellow head looses the red/yellow and looks salmon colored.
This site has great color charts

Prettybird it is hard to give up any of our pets, but you made the best decision for both sides. You can now keep birds that will be great companions to you and others of their type and a breeder will continue to give your Weavers a good, caring home. You did good by them.
Glad you could resolve your issue. It takes a caring owner to know when to say good bye.
