Zebra ~ Flit's fawn offspring...all different tail bars
Flit is a fawn male that I do not know the bckground of but their must be pieds in the mix either on the mother or father's part.
The mother is a desendant of Patches and Cleo for Johns aviary. She has Isabel, split to BB, normal in her background and she is a visual fawn.
The father looks visual dark fawn.
Two babies fldged looking like normal fawn fledglings with tears and fawn coloring, one fledged looking a definate pied, the 4th fledged looking fawn barely visable tear if any and a fawn chest.
Each baby has a different barring to the feathers and a different pattern. one has almost all white little barring, one the normal looking fawn has a v or two long white feathers, no bars and 2 have all white with one dark ban running acros the white.
The babies are stunning in person and large. What a mixed bag of little ones.

Cute. All of them!
I wonder if the darker barred tails will turn into males?

I could not resist....they were all in a row!!!
All four have a different tail pattern...the inverted "v" (actually looks like two long columns) is interesting as is the one solid dark bar across the pied's tail.

Is there a such thing as fawn isabel? The first one in that last picture, must have gotten the isabel gene, with no black markings.
They are all adorable! Are you going to work these guys in with your BCs to get some fawn BC going?

I have fawn Isabel from different pairs. The mother's a fawn, dark tear but the grandparents and great grandparents give fawn Isabels and silvers and are split to BB..

Re: Zebra ~ Flit's fawn offspring...all different tail bars
Thank you Vargur...so what do you make of the different tail patterns?
Nelissa, I was thinking about it. That would be pretty, I also have really pretty fawns, unrelated to these that are split to BB. The males are really pretty also.
Flit is a very dark fawn, he has two other older sons, on is like him but the other is split to pied, white wing edges.
This is Flit.

Re: Zebra ~ Flit's fawn offspring...all different tail bars
Well I guess it will be tricky to know until they molt. But the one to the far left has a very isabel-ish tail bars with the lighter brown and buff white. The next to him I would say is fawn, then possible fawn BB and another BB or split.cindy wrote:I could not resist....they were all in a row!!!

Will be fun to see how they molt! And they are really cute, and have a very nice fawn colouring.

Thank you Ameza, someone else gave me the same answer about BB on the third from the left (no bars).
