Strawberry Finch
Picked up Strawberry finch male yesterday from Debbie in Airdrie!
I gave her the male Lavender that lost his hen for him.
Thank you again Debbie!
Maybe she will have better luck in finding him a new hen and breeding them, than I did!?!?
I forgot how tiny the Strawberries are!
He is a real little gem!

Congrats!!! I have three males myself and they are very tiny and so adorably cute! I have one hen, but she doesn't breed and all the boys leave her alone. They are all just great friends. I hope to get a hen real soon for one of these boys.

Re: Strawberry Finch
Plenty of time for him to breed, he is only four months old.
I didn't put him in the aviary yet, I am worried the canaries might give him a hard time!?
When the canaries get ready to breed I will move them to breeding cages and then I can let him go to the aviary!
The aviary is going to be for the finches only.
I had to take out the green singer as he was a little terror and would get in mini battles with a blue canary male and he would not back down!

Congratulations on your strawberry finch. I saw your aviary on kiji ( I think it was yours) It looks great! I was wondering how your greensinger was getting a long, as I know they can be aggressive with other birds. I just got my pair of GS off kiji as the owner had to seperate them from her other birds because the male became aggressive when the female was introduced.

I think you saw mine?
Was the add with breeding cages for sale?
My green singer male is good?
He isn't the aggressor, but he will not back down!
The male canary tries to intimidate him, but he pushes back!

Yes, that was the add. Wait till you get your male GS a mate and a nest, he'll get very protective. I need to keep mine in a separate cage from my gouldians. Best of luck in filling up your aviary!
