I have You All to Blame

Post by lovemyfinch » Thu Sep 13, 2012 6:41 pm

Breaking News

Tomorrow after work I am going to go pick up my very first Catherine Parrotlet. =D> #-o

I have been receiving orders from our local pet store for my gouldians. Today when I went to drop off 3 , I asked the owner if she was by any chance in need of some owls (I noticed the cage was empty  ), she said sure bring in 2 tomorrow. As I was paying for Billy's (my cockatiel) seed (also happy now that I am considered to be one of her breeders I receive a 10% discount)....she asked me if I would be willing to trade the 2 owls for a parrotlet. The poor little one had just been sold back to the store. :( As her owner of 2 years , an elderly gentlemen is being placed in a home and will no longer be able to keep her. Sad how none of his family members wanted to keep her.
But all is good....she'll be happy in her new home and best friends with Billy :D
Pics to follow tomorrow :D

Good for you for taking him in. I hate to hear that family members don't want their elders pets.

Aww how exciting! It's great to know that she will be going to a great home. I bet her previous owner will be thrilled to know that she will be well taken care of and spoiled rotten.
Owls, Goulds, European Goldfinch, Red Belly Siskins and Zebs... For now...

We just got home a few minutes ago. Here she is, I named her Toui. Poor little one will have some adjusting to do before I can start to work with her.

Cute, cute, cute!! What does Toui mean in English?

Does the poor thing have behaviour issues that you say she has to adjust before you can work with her?

She looks adorable!

You are going to laugh at this..but...Toui in English means Parrotlet...lol.

She actually doesn't have any behavioural issues that I can tell. But is very nervous right now. I have to remember that she has changed homes twice in the past few days. :( From what should have been her forever home, to the pet store (where they clipped her wings to make sure that if she got away while transferring her should wouldn't get loose in the mall) , and finally today to her absolutely forever home :D The boys are already soo much in love with her that I know one or the other will take her if (god forbid) something were to ever happen to me.
I have gone into the cage (she will be sharing it with Billy) and pulled her a few times already. And I must say that everytime I go to get her she screams a little less. I am sure it won't take her long to realize that when I come to get her it is just to cuddle and not to hurt her [-o<

I just checked in on her, and she is all tucked in for the night in her little cuddle tent...awwwww :D
