Yes which FinchFarm? There are two. The only difference is one of them has "the" in front of the name. The one I'm familiar with is in WA state.

Re: Finches from the Finchfarm...............
It's the one I mentioned (.com). The one you provided only sells gouldians and societies (Bengalese), but the Finch Farm (with the .com) sells a wide assortment of finches. Also, (.net) states: "I do not ship my birds."lyzzyjayne wrote:Is it the one above, or this one?bugaboo5 wrote:http://www.thefinchfarm.com/lyzzyjayne wrote: Yes which FinchFarm? There are two. And I agree, those prices on the gouldians (and a lot of their other species) are indeed high! But I thought the prices on the Red-cheeked Cordon Bleus were actually very reasonable! I think this place is a big hit or miss.

Re: Finches from the Finchfarm...............
Ahhh I see that now. Yes, I have always perused thru the .com site and dreamed. ;) I may have to give them a shot now. Thank You! p.s. what a great field trip it would be to see the actual facility.

Re: Finches from the Finchfarm...............
I'm not sure I would chance getting finches shipped USPS (which isn't allowed anyway) all the way from Oregon to NJ at those prices. And I'm a bit shocked that they are shipping in this cold weather.
Definitely hit or miss

It's wonderful to dream -- I dream as well! I've also heard rave reviews about Stewart's Bird Farm in Pennsylvania, but I don't believe they ship. http://stewartsbirdfarm.com/
If you are ever in Panama Beach, do visit the Cage Bird Menagerie (http://www.cagebirdmenagerie.com/), Candace ( candoaviary ) was a forum member and is the owner. She has a wide assortment of birds and is a passionate avian enthusiast -- so much so that she bought the house next to her own and remodeled it into a "bird house" just for her birds! She also opened Cage Bird Menagerie last year, where she sells her birds, products, and other cool bird products. If you are ever able to visit, send her our greatest love from the finch forum.
Aside from that, since you are in Florida, I would encourage you to visit your local bird marts. Florida is BIRD HEAVEN! Because of your stellar weather, the variety and assortment at your local bird marts is one of the best in the country. Plus, the prices are much better in Florida than anywhere else in the country. Enjoy your finches!
