How is the best way to use the Feather Fast?
I sprinkle a pinch on egg food or moist veggies. I also add a few drops of Calcium Plus, as that's what's recommended. I ordered a sample of Miracle Meal as I considered breeding my zebbies (for about a second) and wanted to have it so they could give it to their babies. I even bought an egg candler...LOL!!! I am such a chicken!!! Completely ruled out breeding again before my package even arrived  . I am a SUCKER for all of the supplements that are available for these guys. Dried greens, herb salad, bee pollen, kelp, hatched, oyster shells, and now miracle meal... And they love all of them. :) I also buy the Quiko dried egg food from my local pet store. They enjoy that too. I only make and give them home-made egg food 2-3x a week. Unless they are molting and then I will make it more often.

I should pick up some dry egg food. They might take that better - I could mix it with the Miracle Meal.
I bought a bag as a back up, and I used it the other day, and WOW did they go nuts! I bought Quiko Classic Egg Food Supplement, it has honey in it plus a lot of suppliments/vitamins. They love it (especially my little crossbeak BC female, who has a hard time eating many other things.

And yes, I have tons of feathers around and in the cage the Lucy is in
I would note that young birds in a clutch seem to moult at different stages from each other. It's like they are not syncranized. Why would this be ??
That is a great question. Apparently Lucy's other two chicks who don't live here anymore are not molting according to my friend who owns them now. So I guess it was triggered by moving them to the window bench and opening the window, and allowing the sun to shine in on the cage :)
