Ah Dusty I can sense you're very worried and frustrated. As long as Mom Is feeding them don't frett. It takes the chicks time to learn to eat. They will gradually pick at objects and start eating but expect mom to continue feeding for a few more weeks. Even when they first start to eat most of their nutrition will come from mom.
I believe that the Dad Zebra might be a good father but who knows. I have never had a Zebra who wasn't a good father or mother. The only problem with them is that they are so eager to breed, hormones take over and they forget what they're doing at the moment. Think of it as an adult with ADHD or ADD

. Good luck Dusty, just let nature takes its course. You're doing everything right so don't get frustrated.
I don't have any finches right now but I used to, I'll try to provide my knowledge around the forum

Thanks FinchezRule, your name is so fitting, they have ruled me since day one. LOL.

Just hope Mom doesn't get too stressed, I will let nature take it's course. I couldn't remember how soon my first babies started to eat and they were in a different set up then and flew right down to the floor and picked and poked around, these guys just fly up to the highest perch and stay there or return to the nest. I was worried that Dad's chasing had imprinted they couldn't go to the floor or something. No expert here at all. Just hooked on the little guys. Thanks so much.

They'll feed themselves when they are ready...just keep the food available for when they do....
Now stop flapping....or I'll come round and slap your legs

Another baby popped it's head out today, OMG she has 6. I checked this time and that is it 6 babies. Just had to share my surprise. Don't slap my legs please.
