Could she have injured herself in the process of being caught and then brought home? You say she is not sleeping now that it is night--does she have a bit of light, so she can see some. Many birds will panic when it is totally dark, they need to be able to see a little. If she is still having trouble in the morning, you might want to move her to a smaller cage, give her a little warmth with a lamp aimed at one end of the perch, put her food and water dishes on the floor if she is having trouble staying on the perch.

BTW, welcome to the forum! There's lots of good reading at the Finch Information Center, linked at left, and the members are always ready to help. If you put your location in your profile, it makes it easier to answer locale-specific questions later on.

Is it just a feather falling off or is the whole wing sagging low? Could the bird just be in the middle of a moult? Had it been doing other "bird things" normally? Need more info. Bob

No the feathers were just falling out through out the day. You can tell that one side has more feathers and when she sits on her perch, you see her body leaning on one side more. She's seems lonely. I've been looking for a male GS finch and I just found one that I will be picking up on Saturday. I just want to make sure she'll be okay until then!
