I put regular lightbulb on him for heat for a bit. He started eating and was very alert, even decided to roost. So maybe he is okay. Yay!!!!!

I cover the cage finch mix because it does get a little cool in my house while sleeping. So, I want them to stay warm and draft free. I was thinking about just partially covering. 3 sides cage? Would that help? Our inside home temp drops to 65 at night for sleeping.

I set my thermostat at 65 for night, my cages aren't covered, and the birds do fine, even breeding birds. During the day, it is set at 70, though the bird room gets much warmer than that, due to many light fixtures giving off heat. A regular 60w bulb will give off enough heat to make a difference. A gooseneck desk lamp w/60w bulb makes a good substitute for a heat lamp, as you can point it at one end of the cage.

Birds really can get stressed when they escape and fly into walls and windows, but they normally get over it by the next day. Please keep us posted.

Our house runs cooler and damp.... I do cover mine at night but that is more to keep the cat from bothering them while we are sleeping.

And during cold snaps, I definitely cover them. Ours had a layer of fleece blankets over them when we down in the single digits as my house is older and gets cold quick.

Your gouldians will be fine in temperatures around 65F at night (mine stay in temps of 55F during the winter). For now a light adding additional heat without being covered will allow him to warm up and move away to cool off if it gets too hot.
Instead of Pedialite you can use gaterade if you have any. Egg food is just hard boiled eggs mashed up shell and all. I give about a tablespoon per pair and keep the rest in the frig.

I added 60 watt build last night for warmth, as soon as I did that a few minutes later, he was eating and moved up to higher perch again. This morning he seems to be okay. I saw him eating and drinking this morning great sign! So after my having a near heart attack, feeling just sick about what had happened, and debating on if this was the right move to get more birds, he "seems" okay. Thank you all for the thoughts and encouragement.
Now.....on another note. I do not want this to happen again. The cage door opens downward. So when my hand is in the cage it is open more than I would like it to be. If I hang a towel off the cage to drape the door while my hand is in, will that help deter another escape? There are going to be times my hands will be in for a few minutes, to change out paper or what not. As this cage, does not have a sliding tray. Not the best choice, but I can't do anything about that now. Adapt and overcome. And my husband? Mr. Cranky pants? Well, I sent him off to work today.......;)

Oh and...I will leave the cage uncovered at night, ( all sides?) They are placed catty corner to the side of the window, another concern is when we come up to go to bed, we do turn on the light to get organized in bed then off again. Light on, and off, will not bother their sleep cycle? I know Harley is covered in the dark, as he is downstairs in the dining room, lights on, tv on, people walking by, so I cover him for disturbances issues.

Hanging a little piece of fabric in the opening will work very well preventing escapes.

Ditto! I have a cage with a huge door that opens down too (who designed these doors)! I have fabric hung over it to prevent escapes. I had my mom cut and sow a slit in the middle, just big enough for my hand to fit through. Makes it so easy to put your hand in the cage and takes the stress off you, knowing they would really have a hard time getting out. Just make sure the fabric Is something they won't get their nails caught in! Praying your little guy will recover quickly.
