Got them a new cage

Post by sandri_90 » Tue May 13, 2014 3:25 am

So... after the chicks started to hatch, I started to look after a bigger and roomier cage. And, after having surfed these boards, I decided that I really like the idea of plants in the cage! (this concept of making a little jungle out of a bird cage is not here yet, in Romania, so I had to look for plants in the reptiles and terrariums aisles

Anyway, its measures are 66x45x84cm

I couldn't afford a bigger one as I will soon move into my own apartment, which is not as big as my parents'. But, as usually, my little ones will have enough space to fly, as I let them out of the cage every day.

And boy, were they HAPPY! They are very happy and cheerful birds, but when I moved them into their new home, they were ecstatic! They immediately started to sing, call, jump around, hopping on perches and stuff. Even my canaries were jealous... They have their own house as they are caring for their new babies (7 days old - first clutch).

So, without further ado, here it is: video and pics

That looks wonderful! I love what you did with the greenery!
It looks like they're quite happy in their new digs!

I've got a bunch of new greenery that I'm going to put in when I rearrange and take out the nests after my chick grows up a bit more. New cages and accessories are always fun.
