Night frights... Need some opinions/advice for prevention

Post by J-Netty » Thu Sep 11, 2014 8:43 pm

Hello,

So, in setting up my flight cage, I've been reading about people's experinces with night frights and it's really worrisome. Here's my question. I'm planning on putting a night light into the flight cage or at least very close to it, but has anyone ever tired leaving a sound machine on so the room isn't so quiet? This way the birds aren't startled by sudden noises? I was thinking that having sounds of nature going in the background (at night only) might soothe the birds. What do you think?

That could help in general too. I'd try it being on 24/7 so they are used to the sounds no matter when they hear them. The nigh light helps. I think I've lost a bird before due to storms outside or sudden loud noises, which led to panicked flying and injury. Your idea is worth a try.
