Getting New Birds
I'm picking up a bunch of new zebras and societies tomorrow afternoon from a breeder. I have some of my birds in quarantine since I didn't sell them at a recent bird show. Does anyone forsee any problems with me putting the new birds in with the ones already in quarantine? Obviously that would mean that the quarantine would start over, but it would cut down on the dishes a bit, and I'll be doing a preventative treatment for mites.

Well if the new birds are sick, they could get the birds that did not sell at the birdmart sick and visa versa.

Re: Getting New Birds
Agree with Mary, it would be best to quarantine separately.

Hello
I would think that if the birds are sick than just don't mix them. Just make sure that you worm them and give fresh water everyday.

Re: Getting New Birds
I agree with the others and I wouldn't quarantine together, at least not at first.
If, after 2 weeks, they appear well and free of any acute illnesses / illnesses brought on my stress from the transition, then I might put them together for the remainder of the quarantine while I treat for the more chronic issues like protozoal bugs, parasites, etc.
