Re: I couldn't say no...
slwatson ok, great.. The first step would be to click on "post reply" . This is right above quick reply, which you have been most likely using to write responses. After you click post reply, it takes you to a more extensive mechanism. If you scroll down, There is a spot that says "upload attachment". Click the oval that says choose file. There, you will be able to choose the photo that you want to post.. That's it! Let me know if there is anything else that you need when navigating the forum!

I am so very lucky Bill is on board. When the 4 adults died, he lost him temper (out of hurt), he ranted the entire time I was dragging him around to the petstore to get emergency formula, heat lamp...etc.
"NO MORE!! I was trying to make you HAPPY! and now they are dead and you are sad!! NO MORE BIRDS!!" (oh gawd I LOVE HIM)
When I started to emergency feed the birds he watched, but he wasnt convinced.......then a week later when I took them out to do a "pleasure feeding" I plunked that nest with those 7 babies on his desk and said "You are going to do it this time"
He was like "Nooooo. I cant No WAY" I was like "Oh YES you ARE!"
When those youngins begged and got their food, then fell asleep in his hands....that was it. All that toughness faded away and those babies melted his heart. He pets those societies before he even says hello to me in the morning
Get hubby on board, make him help, let him hold a baby and feed it.
Make him come up with the names for the birds. It sure created a bond between Bill and those birds
But as a result I have a flock of society finches called "Goose, Duck, Turkey, Pigeon....etc" Not exactly creative
but he loves those birds.

Re: I couldn't say no...
LOL! I'm so glad he came around, and the names crack me up! I think my hubby is worried our living room will start to look like an aviary. I can't help but put them in the room I spend most of my time. They're so fun to watch
It's also the room with the most light. I'm pretty sure he'll eventually come around. When I found one of our society hatchlings had caught it's little wing in the nest, he was worried too, and he loved seeing them when I took them out.
I like the suggestion of having him name them...he can do that with the societies...might end up having names like Cowboy, Sooner, Maverick, Ranger...he's a huge sports fan

He can count all the successes as TOUCHDOWNS! Treat it like a ball game....make some bets..get him involved! Sounds like he already has the interest. That is awesome!
Looks like the new finches will have athletic names! Look forward to hearing them!
