Elana Babs Staci debbyloo
Blue is all better no more raw cheek and no more blood. I am already relenting about keeping him alone. Wishy washy woman that I am, when it comes to THAT bird!
Think I'll bring him down to the BIRD ROOM
Debbyloo lives near me!!!!! Can you believe it? Cannot wait to meet her and help her out with her over crowded Socie cage WHOOP WHOOP. Maybe she has some other kinds too?
Back to the drawing board for nesting material and nests, and of course more MIRRORS
Elana you just be quiet about those Brutus boys. I hope they didn't have time....

Well those Brutus junior eggs may hit the bottom of the cage and go kersplat....
Got my hands full right now don't need any zebra babies unless it's a very cute crested male to be her big daddy-o. She is sharing a cage with the CB hen and they are chummy.
I think my cordon blue hen was pecking Blue. He had a new wound this am after being completely healed.

Have to admit that is a sweet baby. I did separate them out until Blue healed. I really didn't know if he was being pecked or hurt himself. I put them back together for a day and he was being pecked. Blue is by himself and I did take him to the Bird room for audio company anyway. The socies are all ❤ together. They are such good eaters! Debbyloo is a wonderful Bird mom. Her aviary is AMAZING. She gave me a set of plans so my hubby may have a big project to do.
For now the zeb and CB hen are together and seem to be very compatible.
I was so excited to see so many gorgeous birds!
I am going to hold out for a created zebra male before we have zebra babies and more space.

Good morning Karen....
I can tell you're still drooling (just a little bit, slurp) over that Aviary

.
When I go and see a beautiful bird set up somewhere, I moon about it for days, all sorts of plans fermenting and percolating in my jealous little brain.
I'm glad that all the bird babies are getting along. If Blue, is pining for company (other than his mirror), the Socies, would probably welcome him into the fold (they are amazingly accommodating and welcoming.

If Blue is shooting blanks, and Nellie is younger, she may be doing the picking on him. Hens can get a bit aggressive when they are ready but the males aren't cooperating.

Six societies is not too many for a 30 x 18 cage. It's crowded, but I've done it and I have five socies and a zebra in a cage that size now. Especially if you let them out every now and again to burn off some energy like I do it should work out just fine (though if you have nests in the cage that could change if they want to breed. I don't have nests in my community cage.)

Elana buy him a ROUND TRIP ticket you cannot keep him.
Sally I thought that might be the case. All the pecking happened when I tossed the nest the dud eggs were in. I need to get her a mate she is a lovely young thing. Blue is content in his old age with his mirror.
Dylan I think they are quite happy. Once they settle in I'll let them fly a bit. I am hoping to let everyone fly once they are used to the new area. This room is warm and sunny. The main thing is this CAT who really could swipe one from under the door. If the cat wasn't connected to the granddaughter I would get rid of the cat. He is serious about being a predator. I know Nellie would love some babies she sure sat on those eggs. If I can find people who want some socies they can have some. It would be so fun to see if we get any crested ones.

Roll a towel or an old blanket over the bottom of the door, so that there is no open space between door and floor when you are allowing them free flight. I lost a Gouldian juvie to my kitty that way (one swipe under the door = a dead birdie).
Don't get rid of the kitty, he needs a home too, and it is simply natural, instinctive behaviour for them. You just have to be super vigilant.
Are any of your Socies crested?

With some crested in the equation, you could very well end up with some crested babies
