Gorgeous as always, Dylan :-).

I can't recall if I've ever asked this, but do they nibble on the plants? Also, is that a grape ivy, that you're little Zebra boy is sitting in? Are they safe for the birdlings? I'd love to have one in my kitchen window, letting it intertwine through the bars of my window flight, but was concerned about the 'ivy thing', having read somewhere, that ivies were a no-no.

Do the kids all go back by themselves into the cages at night?

lovezebs They eat the plants in varying degrees, some are edible and they'll nibble them, others they ignore. The finches just pick bits here and there, no real damage is caused. The canary will sometimes eat a fair amount of the spider plants, which must taste pretty good (these are edible to pets). The budgies and cockatiels will destroy any plants to the point of killing them just for fun and are not allowed unsupervised playtime around my plants. I let them free fly in other plant-less rooms as of late and have been keeping their cage in another part of the house.

The plant is an English ivy. It's not really edible but they don't actually eat it, just pick at it. I find the birds won't eat enough of anything inedible to get sick, I assume because one nibble and they realize it tastes yucky. I wouldn't put one in their cage but they don't bother it too much in free flight.

The kids usually go back home on their own, sometimes a helping hand is offered to shoo them in the right direction. The dove doesn't have a cage, I give him free run of the bird room because he never gets into trouble.

I just love it when you post. You inspire me. What is the rope thing hanging from the ceiling did you make it? Are you an old hippie =)) ? just teasing...that room looks so fun. I'd like to add a cockatiel or two to my menagerie at some point. Need a nice big cage for them. When I was young I babysat one for a friend. Hers liked to fly into the shower and take a bath in your hand. That was so adorable. Birds have their charming ways.

I will have to check my plants out before they go back in there. Once the birds settle and I settle I think they will have a very good time flying around in there. I'd love to hang some stuff from the ceiling that is a great idea. I'd like to make something myself. Pet store prices are nuts!

Don't remember seeing Cockatiels in your posts before. I have only one, "Sammy" and he is really coming along quite well. I purchased him (he's about 5 years old) from a couple who were retiring and wanting to travel.

My family and I LOVE him! When I get home from work he starts "talking" to me and flies to my shoulder to be with me. I can tell he is needing some attention and tells me by his actions. I love this little guy! He is the only bird I have inside my home. He really LOVES my son and will sit on him for hours. He even follows my 16 yr old Yorkie dog "Izzy" around the room and tries to be her friend but Izzy will have no part of this. She gives me these looks like "are you kidding me"?!? Soooo cute....

Thanks for sharing your photos. Love your bird room....Sooooo cool !!! =D>

I believe some of you would like to know this, just saying. But I see your birds playing with those toys wit no apparent ill effect, but I have never seen your birds in life so I'll never know.

Also, nice 2nd floor room filled with birds. It's beautiful and all the birds seem healthy.
