I Used to be a clean Freak--now I have birds & pictures

Once upon a time I cleaned every day.
If you set your cup down, I whisked it away.
Now that I'm older and can't see the turds,
I let the hay fly and admire my birds.

the cage doors are open this morning for the first time in the new "bird room" hoping to make some ceiling swings and fun places to perch. It will be interesting to see who is where later. I captured a few good pictures to share.

Any name suggestions for the socies?

Regarding some names:
I looked some up for you. You'll probably need them all if you're breeding Socies..... Hope you find something you like.

Oh my word that is a list!!! And how pray tell to tell them apart their markings are very very close! and their is the boy or girl issue. Guess we will just pick FIVE names and forgettabout it

Why P ?

As to the boy /girl issue.... the boys will puff up and to a song and dance. The girls will just chirp like crickets.

Some of my birds, are just known as Honey and Sweetie, especially the babies and the juvies. Otherwise I just get all mixed up, so I know where you're coming from

P for piglets they EAT!!!!! I kinda like it and that way it won't matter is I mess up. There is a whole lot of chirping she thought their was one male in there. I may put him in with Blue until I get more cages.
I'd like to control the breeding and have him with Sadie not his sisters.......

They are youngsters right now but pretty good sizes.

Yep....We name them and just like with our kids, we get all flustered and call them by the dog's name.

OMG I have become my grandmother and Im not THAT old yet. I need a hug for that thought..........

There ya go! Just round them off to the piglets!! I have to admit, I ENVY your bird room! I would love to see pictures of them with their new wall perches and swings!

As you watch them, their names will just emerge naturally. ;)

As far as I can tell, Societies, wean ready to breed, so if I were you, I would seperate your boy from the girls sooner rather than later (or be prepared to toss eggs, seeing as you do have nests in there) .

You shush girlie! When I start saying the Boyds are Choyping, instead of the Birds are Chirping (her Brooklyn accent)......thats when its all over. Oh and when I start carrying my purse around from room to room.

Oh, and when I start giving people "the bird" for the heck of it. Man, I miss my granny. ;)

I never knew my Grandmas, they died during WW 2, so I don't know what to expect...

Yawl crack me up Piglets they are and seems the rest are going through an " oh my word what's happening they seem a bit introverted all except for the Daisy she is strutting her orange beak and feet in front of Bleu's mirror----of course she is.

It's possible I got all girls.....haven't heard one SING yet even with the recordings...a lot of fluttery fan tails in response the little flirts but no male singer unless he really wants to travel incognito.

The room is the utility room. I have had a desk in there before, sewing machine etc... but the bird mess is best in there. ESPECIALLY with this many birds.

Im adopted. I totally understand. And we are of the age where very few of us have grandparents anymore.

My grandmother lived through the depression eating onion sandwiches. She still ate them til the say she died. Kids staple food back then, I suppose.
