I went to replace a male gouldian I lost in a storm a few months ago and found a breeder who as been breeding Gouldians for some 50+ years. He had around 100 birds mainly natural and some yellows. I asked him if he had any blue gouldians and he said no as he didn't like the mutation (thinks it's weak ect)
He did have the following bird thou which he said was a "blue back" which he gave me for free as he didn't want anything blue related.
Now I've seen many photos of blues and this isn't one but it's also not a pure green back any suggestions as it what it might be?
My guess is perhaps a SF yellow / blue or "Pastel" that is just very green? OR maybe just a very blue natural green.
The photos aren't the best as it's not very sunny today but in the sun he has a lot of blue and his yellow / orange head is very pale compared to other males. When the breeder caught it he also grabbed another yellow headed green and held them side by side and you could really see the difference.
(He's the one with bands on both legs)

Thanks
